How do I add a widget to my iPhone Home Screen?

iPhone

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen.
  2. Tap “Edit”, then “Add Widget”.
  3. Find “WidgyKit” and pick a size.
  4. Touch and hold the widget, tap “Edit Widget” and pick a design.

First add the widget you like in the WidgyKit app. Then place it on your Home Screen:

How do I add a widget to my Lock Screen?

iPhone

  1. Unlock, then touch and hold the Lock Screen.
  2. Tap “Customize”, then “Lock Screen”.
  3. Tap the widget area under the clock.
  4. Pick “WidgyKit” and a shape.

On Android, WidgyKit widgets are made for the Home Screen.

How do I add a widget on Android?

Android

  1. In WidgyKit, open a widget and tap Add — your launcher asks where to place it.
  2. If nothing appears, touch and hold an empty spot on the Home Screen, tap Widgets, find WidgyKit and drag the widget onto the screen. It shows the design you chose automatically.
  3. On Xiaomi (MIUI / HyperOS), allow WidgyKit to add shortcuts and widgets to the Home Screen when the app asks.

My widgets are not updating. What can I do?

Widgets keep working offline and show the last data they received. Opening the app refreshes everything right away. You can choose how often weather and other online data reload with the Data refresh setting (Account tab; on Android under Account › Permissions & accuracy).

iPhone: iOS decides exactly when widgets refresh. Low Power Mode slows updates down (WidgyKit then refreshes online data about every 6 hours).

Android: some phones pause background work to save battery. Open Account › Permissions & accuracy and allow unrestricted battery use for WidgyKit.

Xiaomi / MIUI: Settings › Apps › WidgyKit › turn on Autostart, then Battery saver › No restrictions. Samsung: Settings › Battery › Background usage limits › Never sleeping apps › add WidgyKit.

How do I restore Premium or use it on more than one device?

Premium is available as a monthly, 3-month, 6-month or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play.

To use Premium on all your devices, sign in with the same account (Apple, Google or email) on each one. On a new or reinstalled device, sign in and tap Restore purchases in the Account tab.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought them from. iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › WidgyKit (or Account › Manage plan in the app). Android: Google Play › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.

Deleting the app or your WidgyKit account does not cancel a subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.

What are theme sets and how do I set the wallpaper?

A theme set is a matching group of widgets plus a wallpaper. Open a set and tap “Install the whole set” to add its widgets and wallpaper in one go, or “Set the wallpaper only”.

iPhone: apps can't change the wallpaper directly, so WidgyKit saves it to Photos (allow adding photos when asked). Open Photos › the new picture › Share › Use as Wallpaper, then choose Home Screen.

Android: tap Add on each widget and drag it to the marked spot. The spots are suggestions — every launcher's grid is slightly different. Sets with Premium content need Premium.

Why does the weather widget ask for my location?

To show the weather where you are. Location is optional: allow it in Account › Permissions & accuracy, or pick a city instead. Your location is rounded to an approximate area (about 25 km on iPhone) before it is used for weather.

What data does WidgyKit collect?

Your widgets, events, habits and notes are stored on your device. An account is only used to keep Premium and your pinned widgets in sync across devices. We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to improve the app. See the privacy policy for details.
